Alica Grilec Kaurić, Ph.D., teaching and research assistant at the Department of Fashion Design visited University of Manchester, Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences, School of Materials. University of Manchester has a research group for Design, Fashion and Business that is multi-disciplinary and covers areas as diverse as applied management, textile design, color, trend forecasting, retail management, fashion merchandising, supply chain management, CAD, digital design, consumer behavior, internet shopping, retail marketing, product development, enterprise and innovation. Alica was hosted by Patsy Perry, Ph.D. for one-week academics exchange program supported by University of Zagreb (financial support for cooperation).

Patsy Perry, Ph.D. is Lecturer in Fashion Marketing and teaches a number of units at BSc and MSc level in the School of Materials relating to fashion marketing, e-commerce, supply chain management and sustainability. Patsy’s research interests relate to the fashion retail industry and span the areas of sustainability and corporate social responsibility in garment supply chains, as well as fashion e-commerce and social media marketing.

During a one-week stay, Patsy introduced Alica with prof. Garry Warnaby, Ph.D., head of Design, Fashion, Business research group and also with another colleagues form the group. Thanks to Patsy, Alica participated at Ph.D. Student Conference and at Design, Fashion, Business final degree show. Alica also did a research seminar to present her former research that she did in her doctoral dissertation.

Patsy Perry, Ph.D. and Alica have planned their future researches and defined possibilities for their future collaboration.
