Textile Science Research Center (TSRC)

“Chemical Analysis of Polymeric Materials Using Infrared Spectroscopy”

Lecture will be held on November 2^nd, 2011 at 10AM at the Faculty of Textile Technology, lecture hall 301 (third floor), Prilaz baruna Filipovića 28a, Zagreb.

Second part will be the practical workshop organized at the premises of Textile Science Research Centre at Savska 16/9. Prof. Yang will be awailable for the questions/answers dealing with spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis or combustion calorimetry. FT-IR, TGA, DSC and MCC devices are awailable for the measurements during the workshop.

Workshop is open for all interested scientists/engineers, both from the academic and industrial sectors. The Eco-Conference® is organized in order to:

– Provide objective views (avoiding under or overestimating) on causes/agents causing environmental disbalance and levels of ecological threats to urban and suburban environment.

– Provide valuable information-communication basis for developing mid-term and long-term strategic programmes for
(a) integral environment protection,
(b) commodity quality protection,
(c) assessment of life quality and
(d) promoting and supporting the concept and practice of sustainable development.

The president of the Management Board of Varteks, d.d., Zoran Košćec, and the president of the Management Board of Čateks, Damir Vitez, signed a Strategic Alliance Agreement between Varteks and Čateks in Varaždin today with the aim to link primary production and to establish partnership relations between the two companies for a joint appearance on the domestic and foreign market.

The strategic alliance between Varteks and Čateks represents a proactive measure aiming to protect indispensable jobs and to strengthen cooperation between the two largest textile companies in Croatia by using their own resources as fundamental cornerstones to create prerequisites for a competitive market appearance and public procurement procedures.

23rd June 2011 a convention on eco-sustainable textiles was organised in Alzano Lombardo (Bergamo – Italy) for an in-depth study on the topic of concrete opportunities for renewal and economic development. A competition for young designers who have to create a small themed “women’s Summer collection” using environmental friendly and recycled fabrics. An open event, where fabrics and the garments produced are exhibited, and with themed entertainment.
