Textile Forum, organized by Textile Science Research Centre in cooperation with Cotton incorporated, Cary, North Carolina, USA.

Forum will be held on 30th January 2012 at the premises of University of Zagreb Faculty of Textile Technology.

The following presentations will be held by Cotton Incorporated representatives Ken Greeson & Erik Phillips:

  •  Cotton’s Market Presence in Women’s Wear

Presentations will start at 10 AM in lecture hall 301 (third floor) at the location of faculty¢s main building at Prilaz baruna Filipovića 28a.

Second part of the forum entitled:

  •  Guidelines for Submitting Research Proposals to Cotton Incorporated

will be held at the premises of Textile Science Research Centre, Savska 16/9.

Presenter¢s CVs:

Ken Greeson: 

Ken’s current position at Cotton Incorporated is Senior Textile Chemist in Finishing Research; he has been at Cotton Incorporated nearly 10 years.  Ken’s primary responsibilities include research and development in the field of fabric finishing, including areas such as wrinkle resistance, moisture management, repellency, flame retardancy, and abrasion resistance.  Responsibilities also include management of the Finishing Research Laboratory.  Prior experience includes nearly ten years’ at Cone Mills (a large US textile manufacturer) in the area of textile finishing in the 1980’s.  Ken spent  another 10 years working for three specialty textile chemical companies in the areas of lab management and technical service in the 1990’s.  Ken attended NC State University and graduated with BS Degree in Textile Chemistry (with a concentration in Polymer Chemistry) in 1981.

Erick Phillips: 

Erick’s current position at Cotton Incorporated is Textile Chemist in Finishing Research; he started work at Cotton Incorporated in 2006.  Erick’s responsibilities include research and development in the field of fabric finishing; he has worked with a variety of functional finishes for textiles.  Erick was previously employed by Monsanto for one year working on hydroponic liquid formulations for plant assays.  Erick attended Syracuse University and graduated with a BS Degree in Environmental Bio-Chemistry in 2005.
