On the occasion of International Wool Day, the Municipality of Majur organized on 13th April 2024 the Second Wool Festival. The festival started with conference “Wool as development driver of the Smart Villages“. Its goal was to promote wool as a forgotten raw material, to prevent its throwing away, to find ways and channels of its usage, in particular for the tourism and its application in the production of souvenirs using innovations and modern technologies.

In the first part, lectures and a Round table were held, with the aim to transfer experience and knowledge through examples of positive practices of family farms and companies that collect, process or use domestic wool. These are: Džakula from Sjeverovac, the Agricultural Cooperative of the Island of Krk, the Local Action Group Una, and the company Soven from Slovenia.
