On Tuesday, 9th of July 2013 from 10:00 to 12:00 in Zvonimirova street 8 in Hall 13 was held a presentation of the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (Japan Society for the Promotion of Science, JSPS). This is a company that operates in 10 states, and the Japanese government through the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Technology stands for it out the most funds of all organizations that work in the field of scientific research.
JSPS mission is improvement of academic research in all disciplines in the form of financial support for doctoral and post-doctoral studies in Japan. Four members representative of the company wished to present their scholarship programs to Croatian scientists.
Vice-Rector for Research and Science, Prof. Melita Kovačević, PhD as the host of the meeting has presented the University of Zagreb.
There are attached two PowerPoint presentations on a very interesting scholarship programs of scientists and funding of research projects, which were exposed by the Japanese delegation.
Although the scholarship programs of scientists doesn’t depend on the bilateral cooperation, for your information the University of Zagreb has signed inter-university agreements with Chuo University and the University of Tokyo. Also, college-level agreements were recorded with Hokkaido University and Musashino University.
