Name of equipment:

Spectrophotometer Cary 50 Solascreen

Purpose:

Absorption spectrophotometer has working range of 190-850nm, i.e. it covers VIS and closely IR range. It is aimed for measuring dissolved samples and solid fabrics using appropriate sample holder.

There is a possibility of transmission and absorption measuring in UV range i VIS range

Model, type, country of origin:

Cary 50 Solascreen, Varian Inc, USA

Technical characte-ristics:

Measuring range: 100 – 1100 nm

Minimal surface of textile sample for measuring protective characteristics from UV irradiation: 4x4cm

Optical cuvette line (at solution measuring): 1cm

Year of origin:  2004.

Method of
work:

The machine directly measure absorption of solution at measuring range of 190-1100nm, the results are computer recorded namely with numbers if there is specific wavelenght and with curve and numbers for concerned range of wavelenghts. Also there is provided measuring of protective characteristics of the fabrics from ultraviolet irradiation (UPF) at range of 280 – 400 nm.
