Topic 1.3: Production of coarser wool yarns

Research on the influence of parameters of fibers on the properties of yarn: Based on studies of cotton yarns of different fibers (Turkish, Sudanese and Egyptian), showed that the cotton with shorter and coarser fiber (Turkish cotton) has more hairiness, unevenness, number of errors and number of protruding fiber which reduces the surface coefficient of friction. It also showed that, because of uniform distribution of fiber length of Egyptian cotton yarn and a uniform structure of yarn, dispersal of coefficient of variation of surface friction substantially lower. The influence of the characteristics of cotton yarn with or without elastane on physical and mechanical properties of raw and finished knitted fabric is examined. The presence of elastane yarn in knitted fabric increases the ability of relaxation after the action of tensile forces, shear stiffness, bending stiffness and deformation work at fabric compression. Uneven yarn increased geometric roughness of knitted fabric.
Research of woolen fabrics:
During the research of woolen fabrics, using a number of woolen materials for construction of upper garments, thermal properties were investigated. Measurement results showed that the increase of the fabrics weight reduces heat transfer resistance, while the impact of finishing on the specified property is not observed.
