Čateks is one of the Croatian signatories of the Green-Tex Pact memorandum, an initiative within the INTERREG DRP0200404 Green-Tex project, which brings together 11 partners from the Danube region. The document was signed by the President of the Board of the Company, Matija Bilandžija, and delivered by the Head of Technical Preparation and Development, B.Sc. Nino Kerman.

Delivery of Green-Tex Pact
The Green Tex agreement encourages transnational cooperation among stakeholders in the Danube region, promoting eco-innovation, policy improvements and knowledge exchange to reduce the environmental impact of the textile industry and encourage the application of circularity in the sector. Through joint efforts, Green-Tex supports the transition to a greener and more resilient textile sector.
The company Čateks d.d., which celebrated its 150th anniversary last year, was chosen as a cooperating institution for this project, precisely because of its work aimed at promoting sustainability and a circular economy.
The visit also included 2nd year students of the graduate study Textile Technology and Engineering (TTI), Textile Chemistry, Materials and Ecology (TKME) Klarisa Čop and Lea Beličev.

Čateks d.d. specializes in the development, production and sale of technical fabrics, polyurethane-coated and laminated technical materials and finished products characterized by high quality, which is controlled by various standards: ISO 9001:2015 (continuous improvement of product and service quality), ISO 14001:2015 (reduction of negative environmental impact) and AQUAP 2110:2016 (specific quality requirements in the defense industry). The application of the above standards ensures that the company not only achieves high product quality, but also aligns production with the highest environmental standards, as well as reduces its ecological footprint.

Tour of the Textile Production Plant
Production is divided into three units: Textiles, Polytex and Garments. It is important to point out that all manufactured materials, including those from the coating and laminating production program (Politeks), meet the requirements of Oeko-tex® standard 100, class II. This international certificate promotes environmentally friendly production practices and guarantees that textile products have been tested for the presence of harmful substances and are safe for human health.
The company Čateks d.d. is actively involved in the activities of the Green-Tex project, and after completing the activity of mapping the stakeholders of the Danube region (presented in document D.1.4.), it readily responded to the signing of the Green-Tex Pact. Activities in the last year of the project continue with the adoption of Green-Tex solutions, developed through 3 pilots whose activities are ongoing and will end at the end of 2025.
