Activities carried out as part of the Green-Tex project were presented at the celebration of the World Environment Day. In the joint organization of three components of the University of Zagreb (Faculty of Textile Technology, Faculty of Geotechnical Engineering and Faculty of Organization and Informatics), various technologies of air and water purification, soil protection, but also the reuse of different types of waste and the application of information technologies in environmental protection were presented. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Within the framework of the Green-Tex project, TTF is responsible for the application of sustainable natural raw materials of autochthonous origin (wool and hemp) in innovative textile production. At the workshop, emphasis was placed on the possibility of various uses of wool, which is a by-product, and which until now has been used only in small quantities in Croatia, mainly for the production of autochthonous souvenirs.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The workshop will present examples of woolen materials that can be used for various purposes, eg for: soil enhancers, humidity regulation, protection against erosion and soil desertification. One of the exhibits is a biodegradable non-woven textile made from waste wool that can be used to retain moisture, acting as a supplement to the soil to promote plant growth with the purpose of greening the land.<\/span><\/p>\n
