TSRC’s  PURPOSE

Textile Science Research Center (TSRC) was established in October 2008. It is hosted by University of Zagreb, Faculty of Textile Technology. TSRC was establised with an aim on becoming class textile and clothing R&D entity and fostering the industry′s growth.

TSRC’s Scientific Council is representing research nucleus in the field of textile & clothing, capable to network within European Research Area (ERA). Following good practice of our European Technology Platform (ETP) For the Future of Textiles and Clothing (FTC) and Lead Market Initiative (LMI) emphasis will be laid on the most relevant EU research topics.

• cutting edge research within the textile/clothing sector, in particular within NMP area

• possibility to effectively use research for economic development
• improvement of the environment for business through the innovation management
• human capacity building primarily within NMP area will produce a core group of well-trained researchers with the skills to spread the success they have achieved
• design and conduction of training courses for industrial professionals at local institutions
• upgrading of TSRC to become key RTD partner and lead Croatian SMEs towards EU Programmes
• Croatian textile and clothing development strategy, issued by the Government in 2007,  is identifying TTF as one of the key stakeholders for efficient Strategy implementation

FINAL REMARKS

Textile Science Research Centre (TSRC) is offering assistance in managing and counselling primarily in the field of textile and leather research. TSRC was established and upgraded with the measures performed under the project FP7-REGPOT-2008-1: Unlocking the Croatian Textile Research Potentials (T-Pot). Its capaciteis are additionally upgraded through activites of project KK.01.1.1.02.0024 Modernisation of Textile Science Research Centre Infrastructure (MI-TSRC): building reconstruction, reconstruction of laboratories, establishment of new Laboratory for advanced materials & technologies, its accreditation and purchase of 14 scientific devices.

As a leading centre of excellence in research and development (R&D) in fashion and textile technologies TSRC will bring more sciencific and technological advancement which in turn, will offer additional benefits to the textile and clothing sector.
