work:

The determination of the surface friction of yarn to solid material is performed according to ASTM D 3108-95 standard. The yarn is unwound from the bobbin and passes through the measuring point at a speed of 200 m/min. It runs over two rollers compensating input and output speeds. The resultant force on the rollers (Fr) is a direct indication of the friction occuring between two surfaces. The instrument is connected to the computer, and the computer program can define the following tests parameters: number of measurements, testing speed and yarn length to be tested.
